The Tour des combins by Mountain Bike
2 Countries. 130 Kilometers. 4,500m of Elevation.
The experience
While the Mont Blanc circuit is a famous alpine milestone, the Tour des Combins is the Alps' best kept secret. Circling the magnificent, glacier capped Grand Combin massif, this trip takes you off the beaten path into quiet valleys, panoramic high country trails, and rewarding high altitude passes. It’s an authentic alpine mountain bike adventure: flowing singletrack, historic border crossings, and sweeping glacier views, paired with comfortable valley stays and warm refuge hospitality.
3 days of epic riding.

DAY BY DAY EXPEDITON
Day 1: Arrival, Bike Assembly & Welcome
Arrive in Chamonix, assemble your bikes with expert mechanics on hand, and run through a full trip briefing with a short ride to spin the legs.
Day 2: Chamonix to Switzerland (55 km | +2,200m D+)
Minibus transfer from Chamonix to Switzerland; sustained 4x4 climb to Col de Mille; technical singletrack descent; traditional Valaisan lunch; high altitude climb to Cabane de Chanrion facing the Grand Combin.
Day 3: High Pass & Italian Singletrack Descent (35 km | +800m)
Start with a quick descent to warm up the legs before we tackle the technical ascent to Fenêtre de Durand.
This section demands pushing/carrying the bike to reach the 2,797 m border pass between Switzerland and Italy. Reaching the col rewards us with an incredible, long singletrack descent through Italian mountain terrain down to our valley hotel for the night.
Day 4: Historic Great St Bernard Pass (40 km | +1,500m)
Depending on group fitness and energy, we choose between a road climb or technical singletrack to reach the historic Great St Bernard Pass on the Italian-Swiss border. Following lunch at the pass, we launch into a long descent into the Valais, mixing technical singletrack and flowing 4x4 tracks before returning to Chamonix by minibus.
Final breakfast, bike packing support, and return transfers.
